Marketing gifts are proven to be one of the most effective tools for building your corporate brand identity. Customized promotional marketing gifts (pens, mugs, t-shirts, mouse mats, etc) are not only far more cost efficient than traditional forms of billboard advertising or advertising on the print and electronic media, but they also convey a strong impression of your brand, your products and services to your target customers, giving them strong reasons to use your gifts and help you advertise to other potential customers. Why marketing gifts can help your business? This is because it is a way to show that your clients that you value their patronage. Everyone likes to be appreciated; hence, a small token of thanks or may be appreciation can serve as a long-term tool of ensuring your brand remains high in the minds of your clients.

Most marketing gifts are useful items that are usually of daily use. It may be a simple plastic ball pen with a well designed body and an attractive marketing message, a ceramic mug that the user will love to keep on his or her desk, a mouse mat which is more attractive than usual mouse mats available in the market or anything that the user can use everyday, T-shirts with your company logo, and almost anything. You can also distribute marketing gifts for special occasions, for example New Year, Easters, Christmas, thanksgiving, independence, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

The most important thing about marketing gifts are that you can distribute them at any time of the year and they will always create an impact. You can distribute marketing gifts to your clients to make them aware of any new product or service that you have started offering, any improvement in your existing services, etc, congratulate them for any special achievement that they might have made, thank them for their valued patronage, and even wish them on special occasions. An interesting way to greet clients is during the holiday season. Marketing gifts at this time are highly appreciated, showing your attitude that you are not only remembering your client during the business season, but also your desire to continue a strong business relationship in the forthcoming year.

An important pre-consideration should be customizing your marketing gifts. No one would probably give any extra attention towards gifts that they can easily find in the market. What they would like is a personalized gift…something that shows your concern and efforts towards customer satisfaction and have made the client feel that he is important. This is why customized gifts count. In other words, distributing customized marketing gifts is a polite way to reinforce your brand identity and reward the client at the same time. Most importantly, your gifts should be something that is desirable by the client and is useful to him. Hence, think about the person, his tastes, his choice, etc, who would be using your gifts and your client will surely return the favor by regularly using your corporate gifts and continuing your business relationship.

Lewis and Clark camped at the site of Portland in 1805 on their expedition across the continent. Portland was founded in 1845 and was almost called Boston after the city in Massachusetts. Founders Amos Lovejoy from Massachusetts and Francis Pettygrove from Maine flipped a coin to decide the name of the new town. Pettygrove won the toss and named the place Portland after his hometown. Portland was incorporated as a city in 1851.

In the 1850s Portland served as a supply base for the California gold rush, and it grew with the development of its salmon and lumber industries and the arrival of the railroad in 1883. The city continued to grow from 1879 to 1900 as a supply point for the Alaska gold rush and as the site of the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition in 1905.
