A T-shirt is a type of garment that is generally casual in nature. It covers the upper half of the body and comes in a variety of designs. They can be worn under a suit as well, which is, of course, a personal preference. T-shirts are made from fabric that is soft and comfortable. Generally, T-shirts come with either a matt finish look (where the weave of the garment can be seen) or with a smooth finish look. And, of course, they look like the letter “T”, which is where they get their name.

Men and women's t-shirts are usually cut the same, however, some designers create a slightly more tailored t-shirt cut for women's designs. T shirt styles vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, some have crew necks, which means the neck goes all the way around like a cuff and some have a V-shaped neck line. Most V-neck t shirts do not have pockets in the front because the V and the pocket would be distracting and be 'too much' on the front of the t shirt.
